Switching from Work Permit to HSMP

Hi

I am currently on work permit and my 5 years are coming up by November 2009. I will be applying for ILR in October.

I am aware that HSMPians can apply for ILR in 4 years.

If I switch from Workpermit to HSMP, and since I have completed more than 4 years on work permit, can I apply for ILR straight away ??

Cheeky question but I thought its worth asking.

I am afraid you're not included in the so called affected group. This group is based on the previous HSMP guidelines that were enforced up until 03 April 06 and were granted EC/leave to remain in the UK based on these guidelines.

you are looking at 5yrs I'm afraid - so near in fact.

You cannot switch from a work permit to HSMP, because HSMP is no more. It is Tier 1 only now for new people to the scheme. If you switch to Tier 1 that will make no difference either.
