How long can I visit each year?

I would like to buy a property in Canada but do not hold citizenship or PR status. I would be self-financing while in Canada. How long in each 12-month period can I legally remain in Canada?

Technically if you are a UK citizen you can stay in Canada without a visa for up to six months. However, if you do this too often questions may be asked about your status. It is best to have proof with you that you intend to return to the UK and that you are only visiting as a tourist. If you are visiting for a couple of weeks at a time with suitable periods of time back in the UK you shouldn't have a problem.
