As far as I know, it is not possible (or not allowed, shall I say). I would advise you to check with UKBA directly if an exception can be made in your case, given your medical condition, and that you can substantiate your claim to UKBA's satisfaction. If UKBA agrees to it they will advise you how to go about making the application.hsmpindia wrote:what if i can prove that i am not medically fit to travel by air.
It will be helpful if you could provide a link to this post you are referring to. And please do not confuse your case with those of others who (had to leave UK because of changes in extension criteria announced in Nov 2006 and therefore) are affected by HSMP Judicial Review of April 2008.hsmpindia wrote:i see another post which says that one can apply outside uk for extension.

pls can you give me contact details of UKBA. so that i can call them and check.
i had contacted the Public enquiry office and they said that it is not mandatory to be in UK to get the extension.
I had also informed them about my critical medical condition not allowing me to travel.
Before submitting the letter i will get my maternity leave sanctioned from my employer. As the maternity leave overlaps with the visa expiry date.
Cheers
