Education not in PBS Calculator

Post by Padma » Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:15 pm

Hi,

One of my friends is keen to apply for Tier 1 (General), but as per the new rules the eligilibility for Education is masters degree. She has done B.Tech. in Polymer ( 4 years) and a Post Graduate diploma in Business Management for 2 years.

Will it be of any use if she applies to NARIC if her PGDBM equivalent to a masters degree in UK?

If anyone has any idea, please let me know.

Padma

It is not a bad idea to apply at NARIC and check ur PGDBM... spending 50£ instead of 750£plus on visa fee n get rejected...

it would be good if u can get more details of ur friends Degree, Univ and place so that others in the forum can respond if they know..

To what i know Post graduate diploma is not equivalent to UK Masters degree.. (I may be wrong)If its not in the UKBA points calculator you wont be able to claim any points unless you get a letter of compatibility from NARIC which i doubt you would get as UKBA gets the education feeds from NARIC itself.. (Just assuming) so if you dont see your education details on UKBA points calculator there is a high chance the result would be the same on NARIC. Still i would recommend you to check with NARIC first .. and as Ramesh said its just a matter of £50.

(PS: My advice is based on the similar case seen for a mate and NARIC did not classify his PGD as equal to UK Masters. )
