with EEA2 on EUROSTAR to Brussels - French border control

My husband has UK Family Member Resident Card of EEA National. Can he go to Belgium without a visa? At St. Pancras there is only French border control and they say on the Embassy website that to enter France people like him do not need a visa. But he wants to go to Belgium. What if they ask him where is he going or check his ticket? Can he travel alone and meet me in Belgium? I have a broken foot and should not travel. They also say in another section of their website that if you have UK residency you do need a visa to enter France - does this apply only to visas issued under UK law I hope?? I am confused.
Anybody had ever experience with that?
Any advice would appreciated.

How certain are you? Eurostar goes also to Paris and the first country after UK is anyway France. It also says French Border control in London. I forgot to check in Brussels, but in this case they might be Belgain because there is no control between Belgium and France if the train goes within Schengen

I have never taken this train to Brussles.

You might want to call up Eurostar or the Beglian border police and ask them for a more definitive answer.

I can not image it would be French border police though. There is no border control between France and Belgium.

There are generally no checks on the Belgian side for incoming trains from the UK as they would have been performed by the French border policy in London.

If you exit Brussels, you will first pass Belgian Border policy, followed by UK immigration a few meters further down the line. Again, no checks once you arrive in the UK.

This is not to say that spot checks cannot happen either on the train or at arrival - but it's very unlikely.

And as you point out, and as there are in Paris Gare du Nord, the UKBA is present to do pre-departure entry checks for UK bound trains.
