No sponsrship certificate,but 50 pt for shortage occupation

Hi people,
While using a pointbased calculator, I have got very interesting result. I dont have a certificate of sponsorship, and my field is in the shortage occupation list. I entered my details into the calculator. Even though I ticked "no" for a certicate of sponsorship, it gave me 50 points for the shortage occupation question. It sounds confused little bit: without a certificate of sponshorship, it meets the criteria. Would it be a ridicilous question? "am I eligible to apply under Tier2 even if I dont have a certificate of sponsorship?" If so, what would be criteria to only consider for shortage occupation?

Surely the question is whether you have a job offer within a shortage occupation?

If you apply for a Tier2 visa without a certificate of sponsorship, you will be rejected. Isn't the certificate of sponsorship one of the documents you must submit with your application?

Yeah, this seems misleading - if you don't have a CoS then you don't get the points for it being a shortage occ. If you apply under tier 2 without a CoS you will be refused.
