Just a few thoughts: Have you mentioned that you are visiting your boy friend? Is your income well above the average of your country (sometime used as a guideline)? You obviously didn't give them bank statments. They may also have expected a return ticket or confirmation of a ticket.

Boyfriend could be interpreted as you wanting to marry which means that you wouldn't return. But that's a requirement for a Schengen visa.

Not that I would know how the Swiss do their job but personally, yes, I think that was the main reason.

Maybe I overlooked it, but I do not see which embassy refused the Schengenvisa.

If it was the Dutch embassy I can help you.
Just send me a copy of the refusal by e-mail together with your contact details as well as those of your boy friend, and his telephone number.

There are four weeks to file an appeal, counted from the day the decision was mailed to you or handed in person.

And you better appeal on time, as a new application usually is refused for the same reasons as the first one.

I suggest you indeed appeal, with the help of your boy friend.
I do not know about the costs of a Swiss immigration lawyer or the existance of subsidized legal aid in Switzerland.

Sorry I cannot help you out myself.

Good luck.

Not at all.

You should send yourself a fax with an appeal (on time) to the authority mentioned in the decision. Do ask them for a copy of your personal file and see what it contains.

It should be in one of the official languages spoken in Switzerland.
And signed by you (or accompanied by your power of attorney to your boy friend).

But you do not know what they added to your file themselves.
