Unmarried partner application through EEA2 Can I work?

Post by sunshines4you » Mon Jul 06, 2009 12:16 pm

Hi All,

I'm an unmarried partner to EU national (Belgium). Since my student visa was expiring we applied for a residence card through EEA2 around 24th june and got a COA today confirming my application (6th july altho the letter dates 30th june). They dont mention anything abt my rights to work? Can I work at-least part time? considering the 6 months processing time I think Ill go mad if I cant do anything till that. I'd be grateful if someone can advice me on this?

my current visa has expired now. and in the COA letter they mention not to contact them unless urgent as this may divert resources from making decisions.

Thanks!

You posted this in the wrong forum.

The COA letter says nothing about working?

I think in general with a COA you can work.

You should write to them (by special delivery post) requesting a letter which states explicitly that you can work.
