Living in France and working in Switzerland

Can anyone point me to anything documented regarding the rules for living in France and working in Switzerland?

The rules will depend upon your nationality. Would you like to post that information?

For example, if you happen to be a national of an EEA country, or Switzerland, then you need no specific permission as such, given that you would already have the right to live and work anywhere within the EEA or Switzerland.

Hi All

If anybody has any more information on this I'd be interested to hear as well. I want to live in France and commute across the border.

Somebody mentioned Fernney to us but I am not sure whether that is a region of France near the border or whether its a French town? (I can't find it on my map!!)

There are lots of people who do this, especially in Geneva. It used to be it was hard to get a residence permit in Switzerland, and I guess it is still a lot more expensive.

I like the Green tag that you put in your car's front window if you have nothing to declare for the border crossing.
