Received ILR under HSMP ILR JR. Liverpool PEO

Post by Accountant » Fri Jul 10, 2009 6:06 am

I have been granted ILR for myself and 2 dependents at Liverpool PEO on 9th July. I operate through limited company with my wife (who is also a chartered accountant) as second director and has 50% shareholding.

Though I told caseworker that I have documents like-

P60s for 4 years (each showing £6000 as salary per annum)
Personal bank statements for 4 years
Business bank statements for 4 years.
VAT returns
CT600
Final Accounts
Tax documents from HMRC
Dividend vouchers showing income of £75000 or above each year.
Self assessment tax returns.
tax reconciliation statement from HMRC for personal tax.
VAT registration certificate
Company registration certificate
Certificate of practice from Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
Office lease agreement for 12 years.

Apart from the above, I had loads of other documents which were more than sufficient to prove that I have established and successful practice.

Surprise surprise, the caseworker did not ask for anything except P60s and passingly looked in the bank statements.

It took 15 minutes for application check at the ground floor and then another 35 minutes at the 1st floor with caseworker. Most of the time caseworker was busy in checking details and filling details in system.

Total time taken was 2 hours including 1 hour for stamping.

In total very much impressed by Liverpool PEO service.

Any more clarifications needed, please ask.

Congrs !

As you do not have P60 for this tax year, did not he ask you to show payslips covering Apr09-Jun09 ?

Any confusion about £500 pcm salary ?

Did you highlight the amounts in payslips / bank statements ?

Any use of business bank statements ?

Which checkbox did you select in the form - Employed or Self-Employed ?

----
And a not case related query - is there a chance to change photographs in PEO if those provided initially are not good ?

I have several sets, and the one I like has a small shadow aside the hair, was thinking of putting this first, and then change if they are not happy about the shadow ?

thanks
Good luck !

No she asked me to to show latest bank statements but she did not look into them. I had payslips as well but she said she does not need them.

Any confusion about £500 pcm salary ?

No she was happy with this amount. As a matter of fact I never regularly transferred salary in my personal bank account but transferred on need basis so I prepared a sheet showing salary plus dividends payable for each year and mount transferred on various dates. She said, just make my life easier and give me P60s.

As I have mentioned above, I clearly serially numbered all the payments in the bank statements matching with the amount payable as salary plus dividends.

Any use of business bank statements ?

Did not ask for them.

Which checkbox did you select in the form - Employed or Self-Employed ?

I ticked both employed (as a director I am employed) and self employed as well. I tried to explain her about 'minimum salary and balance in dividends' thing which we all do, but she seemed happy with P60s only.

As a matter of fact I myself was carrying 3 sets of photographs of all three of us. But first one was good. I think if they think that photographs are not suitable, you can always change them. The guy next to me who was applying for Tier 1 ext. even went to nearest Natwest Branch to get latest bank statements while the case worker was busy in filling in details in system. I think they are quite flexible.

Thanks a lot for making this clear. Looks like your caseworker was really nice and relaxed, the best type of person to deal with ..

Have you got 1 or 2 JR settlement letters, did you specifically ask in a cover letter to provide it for dependants too ?
Good luck !

First she gave me ILR back dated letter for myself only and when I asked her what about dependents then she said oh sorry, I have to give separately for all three of you and then sahe gave me letters for all three of us.
