Original certificate of award of the qualification: This document must be the original (not a copy) and must clearly show the:
applicant’s name;
title of the award;
date of the award; and
name of the awarding institution.

I would rather use Month-Year for the start and end dates. In my current Tier-1 extension, I used start_date as month-year and same for end date as well. But yes, you can use start of the month as start date.srirags wrote:Hi push_hsmp,
Thanks for the help and your suggestion for all the members in this forum. Much appreciated!!
When you say approximate dates should be OK, what if UKBA verify with the university or institution and if they reply back with slightly different date, what happens?
I'm just thinking of the worst case scenario where UKBA decided to go for the verification.
So what I feel to be safe is, if we use the date of award as the course end date which is evident from my certificate and all the degree certificate says ".. sucessfully completed the 2 years/ 4years .....". So exactly 2 years/ 4years before will be the start date.
Also I agree to the fact that the degree award dt doesn't need to be in the same year of course completion, in which case a letter from the institution helps to avaoid this confusion.
UKBA being stringent in the approval process don't you feel this to be safer?
Ofcourse at the end of the day, its the individual to decide on what is the best to support their application.
All the best to everyone !!
