Can we END the debate on Dependants Maintenance fund please!

Hello Everyone,

I am planning to apply for my dependants (wife+kid) this september, btw I got my visa done Jan 09 - validity: march 09 to march 12. Landed here on march 14th and got a job after 1 month of search....In sept i will complete 6 months in UK and will apply for visa for my dependants.

Questions:

1. Do I need 1600 * 2 = 3200 + 2800 £ as Maintenance Fund?
2. Or do I need 1600 * 2 = 3200 + 800 £ as Maintenance Fund?

Please help...any advice on this is really appreciated!!

Note: I have checked lot of other similar topics in our forum however I have not found anyone confirming what should be the answer.

As you would have spent less than 12 months in UK when you apply for your dependants, you should have 1600 * 2 = 3200 + 2800 as Maintenance Funds.

However, many people have got approval for their dependants without showing availability of maintenance funds for the main applicant once he/she has been in UK - if you go with them, you will need 1600 * 2 = £3200 (I personally do not tow this line)
