Really 14 weeks before update?

HO says it will now be 14 weeks before they can give an update on a visa status. Is this really the case? Has anyone been successful getting an update before 14 weeks now and when did this change from 6 weeks?

Sorry, very anxious about this because the longer I don't have my passport, the further away it gets before I can book holiday and see family. (I know, it has only been a short 4 weeks right now!)

Especially if, what if visa gets lost in Royal Mail? You'd have to wait 14 weeks before realising...and then that's 8 weeks you could have already been getting Royal Mail to help cough up your package!

There is a propability you will get something back soon. There has been some cases here on this forum whereby people got feedback within weeks. The information around 14 weeks is just a guide for HO and does no mean it will take up to that for them to process your application. Just keep hoping but if you need your document back urgently, you can request for them to fastrack your application using appropriate forms stating reason why.
