Spouse related query

Post by farida » Mon Jul 13, 2009 9:46 pm

Hi,

I am a Bangladeshi citizen and have completed my Masters in UK in march 2009 and planning to apply for Post study work permit Tier 1 visa. My husband also completed his masters in Norway this year and he came to visit me in UK with tourist visa. As his tourist visa is valid until september, can he also apply with me as dependent?

Thank you very much.

Farida.

Unfortunately, visitors cannot switch. He may apply for entry clearance from outside the UK.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you please explain me the procedure? I wanted to submit an application also for my spouse togehter with mine, in that what will happen? I will apply here and will he submit his paper in the UK embassy in Oslo? Or I will need to get my post study permit at first and then he wil have to submit his applicatin seperately in the UK Embassy in OSLO? I am so confused. Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,
Farida

You get ur Post study visa first.

Keep £1600 and above, in ur bank account for three months. send you employment letter, pay slips, visa proof, marriage proof and most important accomodation proof for both, to ur husband and let him apply from outside UK. He need to submit his own documents as well, but bank statements are not mandatory as u would be sponsoring him so ur bank details are needed. However he can submit his bank details as well. Make sure none of the documents are more than 30 days old.

He cannot switch to other visa type while on tourist visa in UK.

If you have all the documents and bank balance, he can apply as soon as u get ur PSW. I would advice u to mention ur husband's details while fillin-up PSW form.

Good Luck!

If he's still "living" in Norway, then he may apply from there. Else, he should apply from Bangladesh.
