post study work visa help needed.

Post by bagyavasan » Mon Jul 27, 2009 6:37 pm

Hi all,
A brief description of my problem:
I went to the UK for studying a masters course, but after 6 months of study i decided to change the course and the university and eventually i did so, but i was not able to complete the new course before my old visa period, so while i was half way with my course i applied for the student visa extension, sadly my extention was rejected on the basis that i don have academic progress in the first course for which i was given entry clearence, and i did not inform the home office about my change of course or university, but when i got this decision i had already completed my second semester in the new course having just to hand in my dissertation only so i asked the home office to reconsider the decision taken, but again they send me a letter stating that the old decision still holds and that i have to leave the country at the earliest, so i informed the university and then left the country after a weeks (7 days) which is within 28 days of the decision.

I came back to india and was working on the dissertation form home, after a months time i got an email form the university (my course reader) that i have to be in the UK for completing the disseration as there has to 5 sessions of personal discussion completed with the supervisor in order to fully finish the dissertation part. so with this email copy and the letter form the unviersity office i applied for a student visitor visa to submit the dissertation, eventually i was given entry clearence for a period for 6 months as a student visitor, so i went back submitted the dissertation and finally graduated and returned to india within 3 months, i had 3 more months to spare when i left.

I came back and i tried many jobs and even tried my own business but nothing seems to work out here, so now i am planning to go back and try my luck in the UK with post study work visa.

* I have finsihed the masters degree and have all the documents and marksheets and letters form the university stating my award.
* i have been maintianing a fund of 3000 pounds equalent indian money in my personal bank acccount for a period of 3 months.
* and i am applying for the visa within 12 months form the completion of my course in the UK.
* i filled out the point system calculator and i have cleared 75 points.

now my question is will there be any problem in my post study work visa process, with regards to my previous student visa rejections. or should i anticipate any other problems with this process.

also kindly guide me if there are any changes in the application process right now and what more documents should i submit to make my process smooth.

Thanks.
with regards
vasan.

You will have to mention ur rejection in all future visa applications to the UK. Regarding other changes, best option is always UKBA website.

Good Luck.

Hey thanks for the reply,
My doubt is will i qualify with 75 points or will i fall short in that, because i don know what is my immigration status when i studied, if it was a student/student visitor?
Kindly advise.
Thanks.
