marriage

Post by pope999 » Tue Aug 04, 2009 12:10 am

Hi, i am a British national, & my gf is mexican national, her grandfather was spanish but i don't think she can apply for spanish passport not sure, ideal if she could as she be EU NATIONAL, and allowed in uk.

Well we want to get married & be together, if she comes on holiday visa, can we marry in the uk? and live here?

or does anyone know if we can do reverse and live in mexico?

is there any requirements in uk? or Mexico?

Many thanks,

Jp.

No idea for Mexico. If she enters on a Visitor Visa and the Immigration officer suspects that she intends to marry, she'll be refused entry.
If she enters without a problem you would have to apply for a Certificate of Approval to marry from the Home Office. After the marriage she would have to return to Mexico to apply for a Spouse visa to re-enter, it can't be applied for from the UK.
Why doesn't she apply for a fiance visa? Form VAF4 - £585.00 which is the same as the Spouse settlement visa. You're both over 21?
