French Schengen Visa Appointment Help

I have got an appointment for schnegen visa at french consulate. My wife is british and I am on indefinite stay in UK. They have asked me to bring my wife's passport and our marriage certificate.

My question is: Does my wife need to come along as well or can I go on my own and just take her passport and our MCertificate?

Your wife's presence is not required. I confirmed this when I was at the French embassy 2 weeks ago.
