Evidence problem

Post by ericafans » Wed Aug 05, 2009 8:05 pm

I graduated from Northumbria University this year and I am going back to uk on this Sept, and because my money only will be held for 3months at 30th Oct, so I have only one day before my student visa expired (31st Oct) to do it.
And now i have few questions hope anyone can give me some advice...
1) I am going to use fixed deposit to proof that I have enough money, however, fixed deposit doesn't like normal bank account have monthly statement. I only have the certificate which the bank issue when I open the account. The certificate did clearly show my full name, amount of money, start day, due day and the period of time. Is that good enough? I just worry that they might think I cancel the fixed deposit account within that 3 months.
2) I read through the application form, they said at H2." Tick the box to show that the applicant has sent an original letter from the academic institution as evidence that the United Kingdom instittion is either a United Kingdom recognised, United Kingdom listed body....." and at J3." Original letter from academic institution confirming start and end dates for the whole period of study at the United Kingdom institution", should I ask for a real letter from my school? Or I provide my certificate and PSW letter is good enough?
3) At section 4, part N2, which one I should tick if i am using fixed deposit? Is it Personal bank or building society statments covering a three month period?
4) In the PSW letter, is that has to state the course start and end date instant of just say Sept 2008 to June 2009?

Thank you so much!

Couple of things u need to keep in mind,
If you have left UK after u finished u studies and have graduated then be prepared that an immigration officer might stop u at the airport as u do not have a valid reason to come back here even if you have a valid visa. I am only saying that as it has happened in the past. So might happen or might not happen.

U deposit account situation: If you do not receive the statement then get a letter from the bank and make sure that letter fulfill the requiremenst as per PSW guidence (Full details are in the guidence about the letter).

PSW letter: If you have received the certificate then u need to make sure that all the other requirements are met and if you have not received the certificate thenu university needs to add extra information.

If you have received the certificate then u should provide it.

I'm sure reading the psw policy guidelines will solve all your questions.

I understand they might stop me at the airport, so I prepare the PSW letter, my certificate, bank statement and PSW application form. Will those evidence help? What if they really stop me and dont allow me re-enter to uk, what will they do?

About the Fixed deposit account, Actually at the date of my application, it hasn't expired yet. Do I still need to ask for a latest balance from my bank? But the problem is I don't have enough time to get the original letter, cause the bank is in HK, I only can ask the bank issue me a letter of latest balance and email to me or fax to me which is copy... what should I do?

If they do stop u at the airport then its upto them how they behave there is no answer to that. They might let you in or might tell u to go bak and apply from home. Why dont u aply from home country?

If you do not get statements then u should get a letter but i wud suggest that u read the guidence for PSW as there are some requirements you have to have for the letter. The letter also nee to be no more than 1 month old before the date of the application. U need to read the requirements of the letter as if there is any of the required information missing u application will get refused. SO read the guidence for the letter from PSW guidence.

We are here to help each other and yes if somebody got a problem or want some help then thats fine but i wud expect to at least read the related guidence before asking for any further information. The guidence is very clear and explains eveything in detail Cheers.
