Travelling with Visitor Visa after approval of HSMP

Post by Ashwin2005 » Fri Oct 07, 2005 10:04 am

If we have a valid vistor visa, and also have HSMP approved,

(1) Can we travel to UK with the visitor visa before going for EC (for HSMP)?.
(2) Will there be any problem when we go for HSMP EC? (Eg., Why you travelled on Visitor Visa when you have your HSMP approved already?)

I dont want to get into any complications, nor violate any rules. Please advise.

Not sure about this, but you cannot have 2 valid visas at the same time. You either have the HSMP or a visitor's visa (guess you come from a country that requires a visa to enter the United Kingdom).

What makes you think you cannot come & go on your HSMP visa?

Rogerio,

Thanks for your reply.

Initially they issue a HSMP approval letter which is not a visa. When we go for EC, I think they issue a HSMP permit visa.

The Visitor Visa was issued before the approval of HSMP. The Visitor visa is valid. I do not have any other Visa, but have only HSMP approval letter. I dont think a mere issue of HSMP approval letter invalidates the Vistor Visa, as I have not yet got a stamp on my passport for the HSMP permit.

I may go for HSMP EC next month for me and my dependents. Meanwhile I wish to make a short visit to UK on my Visitor Visa. My question is - Is this allowed?

It is allowed.

however when you get your HSMP EC stamped; I assume you will still have a valid visitors visa.

on entry as an HSMP holder - make ure that you inform the IO at the PoE that you are entering as an HSMP holder
Where there is a will there is a way.
