Dependent visa & Age 18

Post by timefactor » Mon Oct 10, 2005 10:13 am

I'm looking for advise from all

I've met a guy in a party last week. His mother works here in NHS with WP Visa. He is dependent of her. In a discussion i came to know that he is 18+ (3 months over 18 ). He and his mother are novice in immigration related matters.

If his status illegal for last 3 months, whether this be a negative mark in his immigration history? Also any other options for him other than students visa?

TIA

Paragraph 197 (ii) of the Immigration Rules reads :-
he is under the age of 18 or has current leave to enter or remain in this capacity
So given that he is no longer under the age of 18 we need to consider the part of that after the "or".

Simply, what does his current visa say? He needs to look at his passport and read what his visa says.

The visa expiry date?

Is he still living at home with his mother? What does he do? A student? Or working?
