UK Student in US - Dual Citizenship/Fiance visa?

Post by G.Blue » Wed Jul 08, 2009 4:11 pm

I am a student from the UK studying in the US on an M1 visa. Every year for the past 3 years, i have had to return to the UK to file for another M1 visa for the proceeding year. I am approaching the final year of my study (3rd).

My question is, I met my girlfriend of 2 years at the same school in the US. She is a US resident. We have talked about getting married and we think it would be best to be married in the US.
What kind of Visa options do we have? I have read about the Fiance visa, but am unsure what it means after we are married.
Is there a way for me to retain my UK citizenship whilst living and working in the US though marriage?

Is she a US citizen? If not, what's her immigration status?
