Visitors Visa for my family

Post by hsmp28122006 » Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:24 am

Hi All,

I am in UK on Tier1 (extended recently) from past 2.5 years and my father and sister (married) want to see me early next year for 3 months during that time we will also plan to visit other parts of Europe.

Which Visa will be most suitable for this purpose? Family or General Visa?

Thank you!

Family. But they will need schengen visa to travel to other European countries in Schengenland. The UK visit visa won't work for this purpose (apart from within the CTA ofcourse). So better to apply for this (schengen visa) in their country of residence before they come to the UK.

Does a UK VV work within the CTA? I'm not sure it does, Rozen, pretty sure the person in question would need an Irish Visit visa too if wishing to visit the Republic and sample the Guinness.
