Studying on Tier 1 visa + maximum time away from UK

Post by chamelion » Wed Aug 12, 2009 2:56 pm

hey guys,

two quick questions:

1) Is it possible to study an MBA (full time) on a tier1 visa that I already have? Or do I need to reapply as a student? I'm hesitant to take the student route as i'm thinking that'd interrupt my 5 (?) years of residency required to get an ILR, which i'm only 1.5 years away from now :(

2) What's the minimum in a year I have to stay in the UK to have it count as a "year" in terms of how long i've been here, for immigration purposes? I know i need to be here 5 years, but for e.g. can i be absent from the uk for 6 months or 4 months or something, and not have that count against me?

Thanks!
