Shenegen Travel

Post by mooty » Thu Aug 20, 2009 4:30 pm

I was wondering if somebody can comments on this situation,
Friend of mine has got short term single entry schengen visa from French consulate, London. He is not directly traveling to Paris, actually he is traveling to Prague via Zurich through swiss air, and then from Prague he is backpacking and traveling to all those European capitals i.e. Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Paris. He is using either train or bus from Prague to all those mentioned destination. He is coming back to Prague and at the end of the trip he is flying back to England from Prague.
Questions, He has got a single entry visa, would that be a problem for him traveling within the shengen area, i.e. going from Prague to Vienna and then same day coming back from Vienna to Prague?
could he move with the single entry visa within shenegen area i.e various shenegen state? leaving one shengen state for another shenegen state and coming back to the first one. would that be multiple entry or just entry, he is not leaving shenegen area at all during his trip.

can you somebody comment on this situation

Thanks in advance

As long as he is travelling within the Schengen, the single entry is fine. But once he is out of schengen, it is invalidated, and he will have to apply for another schengen visa to re-enter the zone.

If his visa is issued by French consulate then he has to enter through France or has to spend most of his travel time in France. They have a condition like that though not sure how rigidly they apply it.
