EEA family permit advice

Hi guys.

I've been looking around but couldn't find the answers to my questions.

I hope you can help me. My wife is from a EEA country and I'm still on the 6 month EEA family permit. Do I have to apply for the residence card and what visa do I apply for after this EEA family permit expires or is the residence card good enough?

Yes you have to apply for the resident card on form EEA 2. It is optional , however it is extremely difficult for you to prove your rights or to get a flight carrier to allow you to board a fight or convince an employer to take you on board without the resident card.

Ok thank you. And do I have to apply for another visa after I have the residence card and the eea family permit expired? Or will the residence card be sufficient.

The resident card is valid for 5 years and with it, you will be exempted from the entry visa requirement.
