Delay in British Consulate Making a decision -Good or Bad?

Hi,

My partner today applied for an unmarried partners visa in Aus and we were seriously lacking the required paperwork due to him being unable to open a bank account here and therefore being unable to rent a pace, therfore not being able to provide utility bills etc etc.

Anyway, we did supply joint credit card statements, plus a whole bunch of other stuff including our rental agreement for our house in Egypt.

So, he was interviewed for approx 4.5 hours which resulted in him being sent away to have the rental agreement (in Arabic) translated into English. He's been told to return on Friday with the translated document when they will make their final decision.

has anyone had a similar experience and if so what was the outcome. Just really want to know if this is a good or bad sign.

Would really appreciate any feedback on this one.

it is really difficult to tell.

I finnd an interview lasting 4.5hrs difficult to believe

although you lack documentary evidence; it appears the ECO is midned to approve; that is why s/he has asked for a translation of rental agreement. or else it would have been an outright refusal

What was asked at interview and what documents did you supply?

We provided Joint credit card statements, the tenancy agreement as mentioned, personal letters sent to both of us with both our names and address on the envelope, photos dating back 3 years, my bank account details, letter from my employer plus wage slips, correspondence sent between the two of us dating back 3 years, affidavit's from family members and friends, flight tickets with both our names on etc etc.

He was practically refused by the first lady who spoke to him when she saw our lack of details, but he pleaded with her to hear our case, which she did. He was then interviewed by someone else (I think that's why he was there for such a long time as he had 2 interviews) and was finally asked to go away have the tenancy agreement translated and return on Friday when they would make their final decision.

So, wait on tenterhooks we shall - I'm a bag of nerves!
