got my PSW after rejection without an appeal....

Post by nancynancy143498380 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 10:21 am

I applied for my PSW by the end of February and after a month was rejected. The reason they mentioned was that the signature in my university letter was printed and was not original.

I contacted my university international office immediately and they advised me that It wasn’t a valid reason to reject my visa. With the help of the international office I was able to contact a lawyer who contacted the immigration office on my behalf. Finally after 10 day I got a letter from immigration office asking me to return my document for reconsideration.

It was not an appeal rather the immigration office accepted they made a mistake and returned my passport with my PSW stamped. This whole process took nearly 4 months. My kind suggestion to anyone else in my position is please don’t think the only option available for you after a rejection in appeal. Contact your university international office or an authorised lawyer and ask for their advice. And remeber god can work in misterius ways.....

The lawyer I spoke about didn’t charge me a penny as it was clearly the immigration office’s fault. Even though there is only a slight change for such a mistake by the immigration office still it happened in my case and am so glad it finally was sorted out by godz blessing... Good luck to all the others … I would be glad to answer anyone query….

Hi Nancy,

It was a truly interesting reading! Day by day, I get more surprised to see how the HO works.
Although It was an ordeal for you, I would highly recommend you to file a case of harassment and compensation against the HO. They have given you hard time for 4 months, don’t let them go away like this and remember it will be in interest of the future applications by other students. And you may count some cash in the end
Have a nice day!
