Do I need to send passport

Post by rizcom123 » Tue Aug 25, 2009 3:25 pm

Hi Experts,

I wonder you can help me on this.

I have gained my ILR after my son was born in the UK, now i'm trying to register him for Naturalisation. Do I need to send my passport along with the application for registration or just the copy of the ILR page and bio page of my passport is fine??

Please advise..

Thanks,

hi if your are applying directly you will have to send your original document.
the alternative is to check with your council or a nearest one if they offer a national checking service as they will check your application and take copie of your document then foward it to the HO.
good luck.
there is a fee for the service

MN1 Naturalisation for Baby

Post by rizcom123 » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:57 am

Hi Experts,

Can you please confirm, whether I can apply my son for a Naturalisation. I had the ILR in Feb under 10 years category. Now my wife and the children holding dependant visa (ILR) 2 years which means I'm the only person having the settlement visa (ILR).

Is it possible to apply for a Naturalisation for my son who was born here before I gained the ILR? and also like I mentioned above within parents only father has an ILR.

Many thanks,

rizcom,

Yes, once you got ILR, your child is eligible to apply for naturalisation (MN1) provided your son is born in UK and he was born before got your ILR. If he was born after you got your ILR then he could have applied directly for UK passport.

go to your nearest NCS service (ask your local council's registration office). Complete MN1 form, take your passport, marriage certificate, son's birth certificate and his passport (if he has one) and the fee. They will photocopy everything and give you back the originals.

Hope it helps.
