Post by hoopladoopla » Sat Aug 29, 2009 5:34 am

hi

i my wife is from South korea (where we currently live) and we are planning to move back to england.

we plan to apply for the spouse visa and then do some long term travel (6 -12) monthsbefore we reach the green grass of home

is there a deferment period and if so how long is possible

cheers for any advice

If you notified the ECO, it could be deferred or postdated for up to 3 months, i don't think provision is made for longer period than that.

How will you prove you can pass the finance and accommodation tests for the spouse visa? Are you both over 21?

You might get visa on application, but anything can happen in 6-12 months and you could find yourself being refused entry even with a valid visa, if the ECO finds that your circumstances have changed significantly since your visa was granted.
