does Tier 1 permit work in British Overseas Territories?

I was recently granted a Tier 1 (General) visa, and plan to relocate to the UK in next month or two. I have a few potential job opportunities in the British Virgin Islands, or possibly one or two other British Overseas Territories...

(1) Does my Tier 1 visa allow me (US citizen) to live and work in any of the British Overseas Territories? If yes, which territories (if not all of them)?

(2) Even if my Tier 1 visa does not allow me to work in any British Overseas Territories, in terms of calculating the 5-year period for settlement, would time spent in any of the BOTs count as time "outside" or "inside" of the UK?
