Wait for NCS or Post Original Docs

Post by th » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:44 pm

Hi all,

Am struggling to decide which way to go and hope to get some expert advises from you guys. I am due to apply for naturalisation and can either courier it direct on 2nd Sept OR wait for the NCS appointment on 24th Sept. Is it worth the 3-week wait or simply post all the docs and save 3-week wait time as well as the NCS fee?

Any comments folks?

Cheers,

The UKBA have been known to lose passports.

So, I think that it's well worth using the NCS because you won't have to part with your original documents.

I absolutely agree with you vinny. That's the dilemma and I found it waiting for 3-week for the NCS appointment is too long (even though I had waited for almost seven years so far anyway). I am struggling to find any earlier NCS appointments elsewhere.

Anyone knows if there are still any NCS centres do walk-in for non-local council residents without any appointment?

I am particularly looking for near Reading. Tried Bracknell, Slough, Oxford, etc. No luck so far. PS: Oxford is particularly expensive as they do not offer family fee and indeed charge each adult separately.

Had just phoned them and their system is down until 3pm today! Also the charge £125 for two adults and one child, quite pricey compared with other councils.
