EC Criteria Vs HSMP approval letter

Post by Mrs Khan » Wed Oct 26, 2005 10:24 am

My application for HSMP has been approved. Although I have sent it back for some correction, which they claim have done and sent it to me. I haven't yet receive it.

Keeping in view the approval I am planning to proceed for EC, I was going through one of the guidance notes for EC on web site. One of the rule is that applicants must

" Holds a valid document issued by Work Permits (UK) confirming that he meets, at the time issue of the document, the HSMP Criteria".

Please note that I applied under 28 years scheme in Sep 2004. I am now over 28 years plus I have changed my job and getting less salary than the one which I used to get during time of application.

I did send them additional docs telling them my job change. This new job is at the British Embassy and a senior/ officer level position.

So I am curious to know that keeping in view that I do not meet the criteria coz of age and job change (salary) Can they refuse my EC applicaton? Although its HSMP team wo took more than an year to process my case.

Ghazala u r a senior officer at british embassy and u r asking from us :))

Well, in my opinion change of job doesnt matter but they do verify from the current employer abt designation ,date of joining , salary and job responsibilities. In your case they have all the record with themselves so shudnt be a problem. Just fill your ur visa form accordingly.

and show sufficient funds and proof of accomodation.

Its not only a change of Job but a Salary. My current salary scale is less than the HSMP requirement at that time. What do u think abt that

Well im at British Embassy but do not deal with ECs> and can't really influence their decision being a worker of BHC. Its free of any influence

Well ghazala,

Let me tell you my exp, i claimed earning points. My earning was comprised of my salary and cosultant fee.

But in visa form i only mentioned my salary and the regular employer. I didnt mention my client delibrately coz verification from them might cause a lil problem to me thats why i avoided them and my salary alone couldnt gimme the reqd points. so i think that they only verify the information given on the visa form. However if they ask u in interview then u can show them the reqd and concerned evidence abt ur earnings. They saw my educational documents carefully and they called twice in my office to get info abt me.

Their focus is mainly on accomodation and funds. Hsmp points are the past story for them. Thats all i can say from my exp.

Ghazala,

To cut the long story short, Ur current salary and age has nothing to do with your EC application. Once you have HSMP approval, thats it. What you need for EC is that you have to show that

1) You have sufficent funds
2) A place to live when you arrive in uk
3) Job search/Job offer letter

Dont worry about age and salary. Relax

I hope this helps and Good luck

Ali

Ali is absolutely correct.

Your EC and HSMP are different and disconnected stages of your immigration, the only common link being that the EC is based on HSMP approval. You only need to satisfy the conditions of the EC and not HSMP.
