Lost foreign national ID card - please help!

Post by siouxsioux » Tue Sep 15, 2009 9:22 pm

Hi there, my partner has lost his foreign national ID card and we are due to travel in 2 weeks. what can we do seeing it takes 4-14 weeks to get a new one?

we will get a police report, we have the card scanned into our email and can print this out, we have the confirmation letter from the home office.

will this be enough to show immigration?

thanks for your help

It's not immigration he has to worry about, its the airline or other carrying company who may well refuse carriage.

I doubt he will be able to embark with just a copy of the ID Card and the HO letter. Would be wiser to postpone the trip until you get the replacement card.
