confused with times for citizenship

Post by lemoncwb » Thu Sep 17, 2009 12:04 pm

hi all

I'm going to apply for citizenship by the end of the year, but i'm a bit confused as to when exactly i can do it.

relevant data is:

arrival in the UK 03/10/2004
ILR application sent 26/09/2008, granted on 10/12/2008

two questions arise there:
1- is 10/12/2009 the earliest i can apply for citizenship?
(i assume yes, just would like to have an expert opinion)

2- my FLR was valid until 19/10/08, so technically i have a gap between FLR and ILR (granted on 10/12/2008), would that be a problem?
i assume it shouldn't be a problem since my application for ILR was sent in time, but again would like an expert opinion.

thank you for your help

1/ Yes your application must get to the HO on or after 10/12/2009 as this is one year after you got ILR. If you are married to british citizen you can send it any time now.

2/ Nothing to worry about as you application was received in time
