tourist-visa immigrant, using a fake EU passport to work..

Post by oversight » Fri Sep 11, 2009 6:11 pm

Hi all – my girlfriend was in the UK last year on a 6-month tourist visa. She immediately bought a fake EU passport and started working. Well, until she she had a big f.uck-off argument with her friend, and this ‘friend’ took her fake passport and work-related documents and handed them in to the police…

My (ecuadorean) gf says that upon learning of this she fled the country, and wasn’t asked any questions by customs at the airport (using her real passport to leave), so they seem not to have been aware of this issue at that time. By total co-incidence, her date of departure was just inside the duration of the original 6-month visa issued to her...so officially she didn’t overstay.

My question is: if she returns to the UK, what are the possible scenarios that could arise at the airport? Since she left before Immigration could issue her with a Notice of Removal (is that what it’s called?), can they refuse her entry? I’m guessing they can..

Thanks for any assistence

Ecuador nationals require visas to travel - with any luck she won't make it as far as a UK airport. If her real identity was passed on by her friend it's quite likely that she will end up on a warning list which will be accessed as a matter of routine if she applies for another visa, and she'll be refused.

She did the right thing by leaving, she could have copped a prison sentence of 9 -18 months for using the false doc. She should forget about coming back to the UK.

its worth a try for her to apply for a visa renewal. It may be approved because she wasnt charged with any offence and wasnt caught in possession of any fake documents! She will have to be good if she returns here though, as she may not be that lucky next time!

Hopefully she won't get anywhere near one of our airports for what she did on her previous time in the UK.

I think people with pecable characters like hers should not be allowed into this country...

I think she will want to do it again, having done it once and not caught.
