I hope someone could help on this possibility of relocating due to work assignment to our country of origin. I must say that this wasn't planned. The probability of my husband getting such an assignment just cropped up last week- right smack during the week we had our private ceremony. Their company does global assigning and it just so happened one of the partners (assignee out from UK to Manila) researched as to who could possibly help him out and he was directed to my husband. We haven't really decided on this, specially since we do not know if there is any impact on our status if ever we do take this on.
We are in the process of applying for our 1st UK passport as a family (still awaiting our passport interview) afterwhich we will sort out our dual citizenship. Here are some concerns in mind.
1. Would there be an issue (status, legalities etc) if we do get relocated?
2. We are planning to rent out our house, I've heard that this would incur some tax duties- would the tax from that be enough to show that my family is economically active in UK(all bank accounts will still be maintained and the main account will still have some direct debits on it). Would it cover NI and other tax duties for my husband/family?
3. We are applying for child benefit- result of which isn't still out (26wks max), would there be any effect on this?
4. If we take on the relocation package we would be given a return ticket once a year, would we be covered by NHS if we do need it when we come back.
Everything is coming so fast our way (after the left and right applications after the HSMP ILR JR came out, we haven't really gotten warm on the idea that we are now British citizens then this came up- I must say that this is tempting and we do like to see families (on my side- his is actually in here already) and friends back there even for just 2 years).
Hope I could get some help from here. Thanks.
