salary check for freelance work

Post by gattamelata » Tue Sep 29, 2009 11:51 am

I'm applying for a Tier 1 from the US and I want to include some freelance work I did as part of my salary history.

My question is, I got individual checks for the work completed (4 checks for $2000 each) but they appear on my bank statement as just personal deposits without a company name.

Is providing invoices and a letter from the freelance employer together with bank statements showing the deposits sufficient?

I can't get any tax information or a letter from an accountant because, as it's only September, I won't have year end tax info until January.

Any help please!!!

Yes. (Letter from employer + bank statements), but they must exactly corroborate each other.

In your letter also mention that you were paid by cheques during your tenure. It also help to explain nature of work to suppress any doubt of case worker.

Thanks, I'll do that. I just don't have any way to prove that these cheques were the ones from the company since it just says 'personal deposit'

Will that concern them?

Well your employer letter will corroborate the amount deposited and also the date. So that would make sense to case worker.
