Quit work sponsered job early and want to re-enter?

Hi
I had a work sponsered job with FLR. I ended the job on Sept 1st and have been travelling in Europe. I have a ticket back to London for 3 days and was planning to enter as a tourist.
What problems will I encounter at immigration?

I have an onward ticket to NYC then tickets for internal USA flights and a ticket from LA to Sydney. Will that be proof enough for the immigration officials to let me in as a tourist?

Also - was I supposed to notify someone in immigration that I quit? I had assumed my work would do that....?

Any help on these matters would be fantastic!

You're from OZ?

Shouldn't be any problem. Even if your FLR has expired you will get a visit stamp. Taking a holiday after the end of a job contract is quite normal.
