T/F ??NO TRAINING FOR DRs APPLYING FOR HSMP EXTENTION?????

Post by Teena » Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:05 pm

Hi there ,

On new application form dated on 1 oct 2009 ,it is written:

Please note that changes to the Immigration Rules mean that successful
applicants in this category may not be permitted to work in the United Kingdom as a doctor in training.
Please refer to the UK Border Agency website at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk for further information.

Does it really mean there is no training after HSMP extention??

Tier 1 (General) Migrants

245A. Purpose
This route is for highly skilled migrants who wish to work, or become self-employed in the UK.

245D. Period and conditions of grant
(iii) no Employment as a Doctor in Training, unless the applicant is applying for leave to remain and has, or has last been granted, entry clearance, leave to enter or leave to remain that was not subject to a condition restricting their employment, whether that is employment as a Doctor in Training or otherwise, and has been employed during that leave on an NHS Foundation Programme or as a Doctor in Training.

Why would you want to apply for a Doctor in training? I mean you should apply for a regular job not training.

Can we get no restriction as doctor in training even when we are not employed in training posts during our current leave (which has no restriction as doctor in training)
Regards
