Can I use ICAS qualification to earn points under

Post by redaccess » Sun Oct 04, 2009 6:45 pm

My aim is to enter the Tier 1 highly skilled worker (general) category within the UK.

This is my history: I have studied an undergraduate degree in the uk and went straight from this to employment under a training contract at an accounting firm.

I have worked for this firm for 12 months now earning within the 23,000 £ bracket. This gives me some points under the points based calculator.

My issue is this:
Unfortunately, I can not earn points from having studied an undergraduate degree as points are only awarded for Masters degrees Tier 1.

HOWEVER, part of my employment training contract was to qualify under the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland certificate which lasts three years. I have only cleared the first year (Test of Competence) examinations.

Is there any way to get points for this?

Please check if this is listed on the PBS calculator.

As long as PBS calculator gives you points for your education, the answer is YES!
