Foreign Currency rate

Post by shoaibazizmeer@hotmail.co » Thu Oct 08, 2009 7:15 am

Dear Guys,

If an applicant has a foreign account with local currency extension account, does the embassy count both local + foreign currency equivalent to 2800-/ pounds or any of the two accounts would have money equivalent to or more than 2800-/ Pounds. I have a foreign account with and extension local currency account on this foreign account. I can withdraw both currencies with a single bank card and my bank statement always show transactions of both currencies in monthly bank statement.

Secondly, does the embassy consider international forex rates, inter bank rates or open market rate to convert local currency into British pounds?

Thanks

This is what I know, If you want to apply from outside the UK, you need to keep at least ??2800 (or the equivalent) in your account or any joint-account that hold your name on it. They are concerned about the amount (??2800) not the currency. They most likely use the Oanda currency converter. http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic...

Hope this is helps
