Problem getting bank statements from my US banks

Post by pred02 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 10:00 pm

Ok,
I am applying from the US and am having problems getting the documentation for the Tier 1 General Migrant visa for the Attributes: Previous Earnings.

For source 1:
1. I have a letter from my employer as well as all the paystubs with a letter saying they are genuine and authentic.

For source 2 the Appendix 1 guidelines state that the income must be confirmed from another source (and thus I cannot use a letter from my employer). Official tax documents are useless, I filed my taxes for last year and I cam claiming the 12 month period Sept 08 to Sept 09. I do not have divdient vouchers thus only "personal bank statements satisfy" the requirement.

I use two banks - Charles Schwab and FirstIB. Both banks are internet based and I do not receive copies of statements in the mail. When I requested original statements from them I received black and white statements which just exactly like online printouts.

I contacted both banks and asked them directly to provide document on company headed paper confirming the documents authenticity or each page of the statement should be stamped by the bank. They cannot do this as this would be manipulating the statements - they can only do this if they send the statements directly to the embassy or wherever the documents are being sent.

The banks compliance department does not allow them to send that letter and mail directly to me as I can manipulate the statements before sending the application (with the letter). What my banks are saying is correct and logical. They also cannot be notraized

So how do I get around not getting rejected for submitting eStatements?

I've been having the exact same problem. I have Bank of America and they sent me regular black and white copies of my statements too and refused to sign them.

After a lot of paranoia and a long search I finally found someone to stamp each page with a BofA stamp by going through my investment adviser. There's nothing else I can do so I'm hoping the printed copies with the stamp on each page suffice.

The branches do have stamps and they should be allowed to stamp the pages of the statements. Charles Schwab has branch offices, I recommend you go to every one and plead your case to the manager.

Do you have any investments with Schwab? I'd threaten to close your account if they can't do something as simple as stamp your statements. Use the loyal customer line. It should work eventually. Good luck and post back if it worked.

I had the same problem with my extension application: I had a BoA account with no paper statements. I rang up the bank and asked for a duplicate statement to be sent to me; the duplicate I received didn't even have the logo that one would otherwise see on the online statement.

However, the duplicate was (a) printed on the letter-sized paper and (b) came with an extra sheet of paper confirming the request for duplicate statements, which also showed the date the request was made. I suspect the bank's covering letter that accompanied the statement was sufficient confirmation that the statement was issued by the bank directly (even though it was photocopier quality).

I sent the online printout as well as the duplicate/original sent by the bank. I got the extension in September.

So I was thinking of asking them to draft a letter and maybe in the letter include information that i requested original statements, however per policy this is all we have and also include the total amount deposited by my employer in the last 12 month period. Then if you have any questions, they can call the bank.

Either that or the banks can send them the statements with a letter of authenticity directly to the center in the US but I am not sure that is acceptable.

This is ridiculous btw UK is behind the times no one prints and stamps statements.

Another suggestion.. what if the bank sends me the statements sealed in an envelope and the I include the sealed envelope in my application?

These statements are legitimate there must be a way around this that does not involve luck or chance.

Can you request new ones and then just not open the sealed envelope? I sent my application out yesterday so I'll post back what happened with the bank statements.

Ok,
So I spend countless hours with CS compliance and customer support.

They can provide a letter saying that I requested statements and these are the statements that they provide to all of their clients they have the Charles Schwab logo and are in black and white. They are printouts and they cannot stamp them in any way.

They can provide a letter confirming deposits per month from my employer which matches the amount on the statements.

They cannot stamp or sign or do anything else with the statements per their compliance department. They cannot even reprint the originals which were to be sent to be if I did not choose "Paperless banking."

I pleaded with them and pleaded. I threatened to close my account. There is nothing they can do. The person at customer service has been working with compliance which has been rejecting this request. I have forwarded them the original UK document with the requirement. They don't understand because they claim in the past they were able to send originals directly to the embassies.
