Maintainence funds Letter Satisfactory

Post by pred02 » Sat Oct 10, 2009 7:08 pm

Hi,

For the letter of maintenance of funds I have the following:
1) Letter from my bank on official letterhead dated September 20, 2009 stating:
a. starting balance
b. every balance
c. lowest balance

for the period June 22, 2009 through September 20, 2009. I will submit also the statements for the period above.

I am still awaiting other documents (official statements, letter from University) is this sufficient? By when do I need to send my application for this letter to be invalid? Its taking a while for other institutions to send me information so I am afraid the letter will be dated.

Thanks!

Crazy, I counted 90 days when I requested it. I will submit both the statements and the letter for that period. Do you think I should omit the letter or maybe rerequest it? I don't want to hassle the bank again, been hassling them a whole lot because of stupid little detail like this.

As Ramesh have told you, "if you have ORIGINAL bankstatements then u don't need letter from bank." Just get original statements for last twelve months, that you can use both for your "previous earnings" and "maintenance" sections.

Because you are waiting for other documents, like letter from university, etc, so I would suggest that first collect all those documents, and bank statements try to get at the end. As when you get proof for maintenance funds, you have one month left to apply otherwise that proof will not be valid.

Quote from Guidance:

ii) Personal bank statements showing the payments made to the applicant: Bank statements provided must be on official bank stationery, and must show each of the payments that the applicant is claiming. If the applicant wishes to submit electronic bank statements from an online account he/ she should also provide a supporting letter from the bank on company headed paper confirming that the documents are authentic. Alternatively an electronic bank statement bearing the official stamp of the bank issuing the statements will be accepted. This stamp must appear on every page of the statement. For the purposes of this guidance an online bank account is one that operates solely over the internet and sends their bank statements to their customers electronically (for example over the internet or via email).
