NCS appointment - spouse attendance required?

Post by lmc » Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:51 am

I am waiting on a Nationality Checking Service appointment and am wondering if my British spouse is required to attend the appointment with me? I am applying for naturalisation/citizenship based upon marriage. I know I need to bring his passport but I just wanted to double check that they need to see him too. (He is more than happy to come but he has various work/travel obligations which may conflict with the appointment.) Many thanks.

No he does not have to attend with you. make sure you have his passport and your marriage certificate at hand. they will make copies of everything.
All the best.
Partner: British Citizen; Me: SA with ILR (qualified through spouse visa). Updated March 2009 - naturalised.
