tourist visa

Post by swann » Wed Oct 21, 2009 8:29 am

hello!
i would like to ask a question about a friend's situation:

-she's Filipino, visa-required
-has an Irish boyfriend but they couldn't marry yet as she's still awaiting annulment of her first marriage to a Filipino
-she was here in ireland on a tourist visa from june-august 2009 to visit her Irish boyfriend and returned back to the philippines upon the expiry of her visa

my question is: when can she apply for another tourist visa again? since they can't marry yet, she wanted to apply for another tourist visa to Ireland again, if possible. does Ireland have a rule regarding the frequency of one's tourist visa applications, as in the case of Schengen?
from the Dutch IND website: So if you have stayed in one of the Schengen countries for 3 consecutive months you will have to wait a minimum of 3 months before you can return to the Schengen territory.
Thanks a lot for your time!

it's possible that there is no requirement as to the waiting time before applying for the second irish visa. By the time she applies for the visa and gets it, it will probably be 3 months anyway before she is actually coming to ireland again.

There is no limit you can apply for another visa as soon as one expired.
