Irish National with Uk Birth Cert - Am i Entitled

Hi Folks,

I am a 29 year old man whom has just returned to the UK/Ireland from Australia and have decided to stay in the Uk thanks to a friend of mine willing to put up with me for a while. Having just gotten here I am trying to get as much info as possible to help me get set up and off the ground running.....so here is my question;

As a 29 year old man who has an irish passport but an english birth certificate, am I entitled to the dole or any other benefits?

Technically I am an Irish citizen but being born in 1988 i believe I have something similar to dual citizenship especially with my UK birth cert....any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

How did this work out for you? I have the same issue, but with an American passport.
