Do you presently have a Residence Card or a Permanent Residence Card?

Are you married?

You can only apply for citizenship in the UK once you have Permanent Residence in the UK. When that happens or happened is a more complicated question.

You need to have PR before you apply for citizenship. Those are just the rules.

But I suspect you may already have it.

Why did you apply for a Residence Card instead of a Permanent Residence Card? See http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eucit ... ropeanlaw/

I would suggest you go slowly and check everything carefully.

What are you about to apply for?

Check the rules carefully. I am not sure you qualify, though I suspect you might.
