Can i apply for ilr based on my scottish grandparent?

I know that you can if you have an irish grandparent...

ILR is Indefinate Leave to Remain which is issued from within the UK to someone already settled here.

im living in the uk on the ancestry visa

my question is can i apply for ilr before my 5 year qualifying period if my grandfather was born in scotland

i know you can if the grandparent was born in ireland...

understand?

Place of g/parent birth isn't relevant for you. You have to complete the period of limited leave before you can qualify for ILR on this basis.
