Irish Naturalisation from Northern Ireland

Post by kkkool » Fri Oct 30, 2009 4:09 pm

Hi All,

I'm Irish national living in Nothern Ireland with my husband(indian national) and three kids(Irish and British passport holders). we are married over three years but my husband doesnt have any proper visa from ukba. He is having only temp entry and his case is in home office.

I just want to know can we apply for his irish naturalisation on bassis of our marriage-which is over three years.

The main concern for me is we dont have enough document on my husband name . we have only few utility bills and childern Birth certificates with his name.

Can any one guide us , what approach goan be best for us?

You've been married 3 years; how long has your husband been living in Northern Ireland?

Also, what did he apply for with the Home Office?

And you? Do you work, go to school, are you self-employed?

The requrements for applying for citizenship based on marriage is 3 years marriage to an Irish citizen and 3 years legal residence in Ireland (north or south).

kkkool,

I assume you applied for a Residence Card for a family member of an EU citizen.

When did you apply for it?

What contact has your husband had with UKBA? Has he been expelled from the UK before? Overstayed his visa?
