Could anyone share their experience please regarding someone on Tier2 WP visa (old one) are allowed to progress or not? In my case my previous boss resigned and two departments merged together. My current boss cannot do this job because he is not expert in that mater and also the amount of work he can do so they advertised this in the department, I applied for this job and got it. And this job cannot be advertised externally because the nature of the job. This new job doesnt change my current duties but adds a few responsibility and also provides a little increment in my salary is about £2400/annum.

After reading on HO website, I feel it is so discriminatory against immigrants they are not allowed to progress. If my employer fills this technical job change form, I am sure they will be asked to apply for a Sponsorship licence etc. He wouldnt bother for these things and I have to decline this promotion unfortunately. How sad is that? He is also aware there is no one in the department who is experienced enough to do this extra duty. I am planning to apply for ILR in Feb. Could anyone please advise me I am so frustrated and desperate.
